Consultant ophthalmic surgeon at Moorfields Eye Hospital
Mahi Muqit is a consultant ophthalmic surgeon at Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and Honorary Clinical Lecturer at the UCL Institute of Ophthalmology, specialising in vitreoretinal surgery and medical retina — treating conditions such as age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy and retinal detachment. He holds medical and PhD training from institutions including the University of Glasgow, Imperial College’s St Mary’s Hospital, and the University of Manchester, and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists. Beyond his surgical practice, Muqit leads significant clinical research, contributes to international guidelines on retinal disease, and supports global charitable work with organisations like Helen Keller International.
