Jacob Anthony George

NSF Graduate Research Fellow at The University of Utah.

Jacob George received his B.S. in Biomedical Engineering and a Certificate in Computational Science and Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin in 2016. George graduated with Highest Honors and was the sole recipient of the Biomedical Engineering Student Leadership Award for his substantial contributions to the department as President of the Biomedical Engineering Honor Society. He then received his M.S. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Utah in 2018. George is now pursuing his Ph.D. at the University of Utah, working with Dr. Gregory Clark in the Center for Neural Interfaces.

George's research interests lie at the intersection of man and machine. His experience includes brain-computer interfaces, artificial intelligence and bionic devices. The long-term goal of his research is to temporarily augment impaired biology with artificial biology (i.e., artificial neural networks and bionic devices) to treat neurological disorders and further our understanding of neural processing.
