Lecturer in Data Science
Dr. Giorgio Di Gessa is a Lecturer in Data Science at the Department of Epidemiology and Public Health at University College London (UCL) . He is also a co-investigator of the English Longitudinal Study of Ageing (ELSA), a major UK panel study examining the health, social, and economic circumstances of older adults.
Dr. Di Gessa completed his PhD in Demography at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, focusing on the concept of “Active Ageing” as promoted by the World Health Organization . His academic interests include social gerontology, particularly the demographic and social determinants of health and wellbeing in later life in Europe
