Professor of Radiology at the University of Cambridge
Professor Fiona J. Gilbert is a distinguished Scottish radiologist and academic, currently serving as a Professor of Radiology and Head of the Department of Radiology at the University of Cambridge. She is also an honorary consultant radiologist at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (CUH). Gilbert graduated in medicine from Glasgow University in 1978 and became a consultant radiologist in 1989. Prior to her current role, she was the Roland Sutton Professor of Radiology at the University of Aberdeen and led the National Breast Screening Programme for the North East of Scotland. Her research primarily focuses on breast and ovarian cancer, with a particular emphasis on imaging techniques to understand tumour physiology and microenvironments.
