Compton Rom has a medical school education from the University of Michigan and a M.S. in Microbiology from Michigan State University. His current interest lies in the utilization of ancient soil-based microbes (proteobacteria) as an addition to our diet. These microbes occupied the guts of our ancestors and may hold a key to long-lost regenerative factors when fermented using superfoods and sprouted grains. His products include the fermented byproducts of soil microbes from volcanoes on Japan, Hawaii, Vanuatu, Guatemala, Patagonia and the tundras of Siberia and Alaska. These beneficial microbes could represent the future of medicine, with the potential to treat a variety of diseases in humans and animals, and expand consciousness.
