Professor of Regenerative Cardiology at Hannover Medical School (MHH)
Prof. Christian Bär is a molecular biologist and regenerative cardiologist at Hannover Medical School (MHH), where he leads a research group in the Institute for Molecular and Translational Therapy Strategies (IMTTS). He studies how non-coding RNAs and telomere biology influence cardiac aging, regeneration, and disease, focusing on telomerase as a potential therapeutic target for age-related cardiovascular problems. With a joint professorship at MHH and the Fraunhofer Institute ITEM, his work bridges fundamental mechanisms of aging with translational therapies, including mRNA-based interventions to protect and rejuvenate heart cells.
