Medical doctor and geriatrician at Karolinska Institutet
Caterina Trevisan is a medical doctor and geriatrician, currently affiliated with the Karolinska Institutet’s Aging Research Center in Stockholm — part of the group studying multimorbidity and frailty in older adults. Originally trained in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Padua (Italy), she specialised in gerontology and geriatrics and earned a PhD in Clinical and Experimental Sciences. Her professional work bridges clinical geriatrics and population-level research: she cares for older patients in hospital and community settings while leading studies on age-related issues such as accidental falls, sarcopenia (muscle loss) and frailty. Trevisan also contributes to academic teaching, training medical, nursing and postgraduate students in geriatric medicine, epidemiology and applied statistics. In short, she brings both clinical expertise and research rigor to improving health and quality of life among older adults.
