Dr. Andrew B. Singleton, Ph.D., is the director of the NIH Center for Alzheimer’s and Related Dementias (CARD). He earned his B.Sc. from the University of Sunderland and Ph.D. from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne, U.K. After postdoctoral work at the Mayo Clinic, he joined NIH in 2001, where he now leads research into the genetic causes of neurodegenerative diseases. Singleton has made significant discoveries in Alzheimer's, Parkinson’s, and related dementias. A 2016 NIH Distinguished Investigator, he has earned numerous honors, including the 2019 Robert A. Pritzker Award for Parkinson’s Research. He also serves on various scientific and editorial boards.
