Janice Ranson

Senior Research Fellow at University of Exeter and Deputy Director of DEMON Network

Janice is a Senior Research Fellow at University of Exeter and Deputy Director of the Deep Dementia Phenotyping (DEMON) Network. Janice oversees strategic partnership development and manages the research activity of 7 multidisciplinary Working Groups, which focus on delivery of collaborative publications, funding applications and knowledge exchange.

A Fellow of the Royal Society for Public Health (FRSPH), Janice's scientific expertise includes development and validation of clinical prediction models, incorporating a wide range of clinical, biomarker and genetic features from large population-based cohorts and clinical datasets. Her work has included development of prognostic models for use in specialist settings such as the National Prion Disease Unit, screening tools for clinical trial recruitment, and prediction models for primary care, including a clinical decision support system for dementia identification in non-specialist settings.

Most recently, she co-founded a new Alan Turing Institute Interest Group in Precision Dementia Medicine, and a new Alzheimer's Association International Society to Advance Alzheimer's Research and Treatment (ISTAART) Professional Interest Area in AI for Precision Dementia Medicine.
