Gabriele Civiletto
Scientist in Cell Biology and Aging at Nestlé
Dr. Gabriele Civiletto did his PhD at the University of Milan (Italy) focusing on mitochondrial biology and new therapies for mitochondrial diseases. He later moved to MRC Mitochondrial Biology Unit in Cambridge (UK) to perform post-doctoral studies on the activation of autophagy and mitophagy through mTOR dependent and independent mechanisms as new therapeutical approaches for mitochondrial dysfunctions. These studies led to unveiling new druggable targets in the area of mitochondrial medicine. In 2017, he joined Nestlé Institute of Health Science in Lausanne (Switzerland) as scientist, to study the cellular mechanisms involved in aging and discover new natural molecules and dietary interventions that promote heathy aging.
