Annelies Wilder-Smith
Professor at London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine
Annelies Wilder-Smith is Tenured Professor for Infectious Diseases Research at Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine. Her research interests are emerging infectious diseases, in particular Zika, dengue, yellow fever, and influenza. Her general interests and expertise include travel and tropical medicine as well as vaccinology. Currently, she is the Lead Principal Investigator and Coordinator of an international consortium on Zika, coined "ZikaPLAN" (Zika Preparedness for Latin America Network) (https://zikaplan.tghn.org) funded by the European Commission. She recently completed a 5 year project on dengue through a consortium called DengueTools, also funded by the EU (www.denguetools.net). She serves as Director of Partnership for Dengue Control, which is part of the Global Dengue and Aedes-transmitted Diseases Consortium GDAC.
Annelies is the President of the International Society of Travel Medicine, Past-President of the Asia Pacific Society of Travel Medicine, and was Chair of the Regional Conference of the ISTM in Singapore 2012.
