British and Israeli teams join to reverse ageing of blood vessels
Researchers to try and protect the blood vessels in the body from the effects of ageing.
Will be searching for biomarkers that can help to get an idea of the biological age of the vessels.
Plans to find ways to rejuvenate the blood vessels as a new approach for promoting healthy ageing.
Likely to provide geroprotective targets with potential to prevent heart, vascular and kidney disease.
Part of an initiative called the Britain Israel Research and Academic Exchange Partnership (BIRAX).
Research teams are based in King’s College London, and Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
