Weight loss is not really important to fight diabetes


Dambha-Miller said it is possible to “get rid of diabetes” by losing only 10% of the weight.
Modest weight loss could prevent diabetes for at least five years.
Scientists analysed the data of 867 type 2 diabetes patients, followed them for five years.
Disease was reversed in people who maintained the same weight or those who lost 10% of the weight.
Study is published in the journal Diabetic Medicine.

There is no need to lose 15% or more of body weight to manage type 2 diabetes
