Pig Ebola spreads across Asia leading to culling of millions of pigs


South-east Asia is battling to contain African swine fever, known as “pig Ebola”.
Biggest animal disease outbreak ever on the planet.
Already spreading in China, Mongolia, North Korea, Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand.
Harmless to humans, but fatal to pigs as infected pigs internally bleed until death.
No vaccination for this virus that can last for several weeks in the environment.
Difficult to contain the disease due to lack of compensation for pig farmers.
Global pork prices have risen by 40% due to culling of infected pigs.

If this mutated to infect humans it would be worse than Ebola
