Nuclear fusion start-up investment tops $127 million


General Fusion is a nuclear fusion start-up in Canada, started in 2002.
Fusion produces no greenhouse gases or nuclear waste - and can’t be made into a weapon.
It’s the same process that powers the sun - and containing the plasma is difficult.
A gallon of seawater could produce as much energy as 300 gallons of gasoline.
$127 million has already been invested into GF, including by Jeff Bezos and Microsoft.
Competitors include Lockheed Martin and Commonwealth Fusion Systems.
